St Andrew’s College

St Andrew’s College, a private school in Christchurch, were looking for an all-weather alternative to grass and a solution to the drainage problems they were experiencing. They were frustrated by the limitations natural grass placed on their students during the winter months, and with the mess caused by mud and wet turf being trampled through their classrooms.

The real challenge revolved around developing versatile solutions that would cater to the needs of students ranging in age from year one to year thirteen. We developed a multi-purpose playground for their preparatory school, added artificial grass around the main rugby field, and created both a hockey turf and a netball/basketball for the senior school.

The result is a range of playing surfaces that service the students year-round. From the cricket pitch to the tennis courts; the netball court to the younger student’s playground, there’s a variety of clean, dry spaces where children can play.  It’s a long-term investment for a school that prides itself on having the best resources possible.

Multisport Surfaces would like to thank St Andrews College custom over many years, starting in 2010 with the Prepartory School’s multi use area we have progressively worked with them to add several more sporting areas such as additional tennis/netball courts, Half hockey field, cricket nets and a new multipurpose playground for their Junior School and recently the addition of the cloud all weather area.
