Cricket

Multisport Surfaces has surfaces specifically for cricket pitches, either for match play, in the nets, indoor training and provision for all weather, flat and free draining surfaces for bowler’s run ups. The wickets can come in a range of different surfaces, lengths and withs to suit players of all levels, from junior wickets in schools to more advanced wickets for senior and competition pitches.

There are several base options for cricket wickets. A concrete base is standard under astrograss cricket wickets. Multi sport surfaces can undertake the construction of concrete bases as well as the supply of the surface. Normally a concrete base is most suited for batting cages and bowler run – ups. Another option is available where by clubs or schools require the fields for use of other sporting codes and do not want a concrete permanent solution, a crushed rock base can be provided with a waterproof wicket and winter cover. A Winter wicket cover uses astrograss laid over an existing wicket during the winter to enable the field to be safely converted from cricket into a winter sport code.

We can provide the complete design, construction and astrograss installation for batting cages and bowlers run-ups. Site excavations, leveling, concrete pour or base build, installation of nets, either chain link galvanised or flexi nets.

Synthetic cricket surfaces provide a playable all weather, free draining and quick dry out surfaces withstanding any pounding given by fast bowlers. Of course this surface also means minimal maintenance as no mowing, rolling, covering etc is required.
